Overview:

Designing social games is not like designing games for other platforms. Unfortunately, that hasn't stopped many game designers from acting as if it was just the same. This presentation looks at the wide variety of ways that hardcore (and even traditional casual game designers) have turned what used to be their best design instincts into awful social game experiences and shows how they can be replaced with new and improved best practices. As an added bonus, we will also look at some of the worst game design practices of web product managers.
