Overview A detailed walkthrough of creating what Double Fine terms "2.5D animation" for Broken Age and the animation pipeline developed for this approach to the art form. Attendees will be presented with a step-by-step walkthrough of how a Broken Age character was authored from concept to final animation using our 2.5D approach. You will see what inspired us during pre-production and will receive a detailed description of why we made the decisions we did. You will learn about the many benefits as well as some of the drawbacks of this approach to animation. The hope is that this talk will inspire others to take what we learned and create their own exciting new approach to the art of animation in their future games.
