Overview: Writing a basic audio engine is easy. In about 300 lines of code, you can write a simple, clean audio engine. Once you have those lines written, then what? In this talk, Guy will take you through some of the things that you need to think about when writing an audio engine, and will provide concrete code, examples and solutions gleaned from his 12+ years writing audio engines in the games industry. If you want to know how to build a state machine for your playing sounds, where to put your audio listener for a third-person camera, how to implement a snapshot mixer, and most importantly, how to write an audio engine that is a joy to maintain, come to this talk!
