The audio mix of a video game is often considered a final piece of the production puzzle, but in reality it is a complex, continuous balancing act of content and technology. This talk will briefly trace the history of mixing for video games, outline Sucker Punch Productions' current toolset, then demystify the core concepts of mixing for game audio and provide best practices for using each one. Using examples from various titles and personal successes and failures, this talk aims to demystify the process of mixing and provide a framework which others can learn from and utilize in the their own work.
