Overview: This lecture will examine Turn 10's approach to procedurally placing dynamic light probes used for Global Illumination in Forza Motorsport. With the increasing complexity of building AAA environments, we identified a technique to dramatically decrease manually intensive probe placement work as environments are iterated on. We explore the technical solutions, and what can be improved in future implementations. This talk aims to share our approaches to some of these challenges with the hope that other studios and industry professionals can improve their workflows.
