Overview:

Rocksmith is the first console game developed completely in-house at Ubisoft San Francisco. In this presentation, we will discuss the growing pains of building a team from scratch - literally - while simultaneously struggling to learn just what it means to be a lead. Anyone transitioning into a leadership role - and those already there - will appreciate the cautionary tale presented here. A wide array of topics will be covered, including inefficient ways to handle multiple teams on opposite sides of the world; what not to do when an already small team starts hemorrhaging people; how to not remain cool and collected in a stressful environment; how to make wildly inaccurate planning estimates; and, ultimately, how to learn from your mistakes and make sure they don't happen again.
