Overview: This session is a practical analysis of the benefits of adding an in-house researcher to your development staff, based on the experiences of Volition, Inc's Player Experience Researcher over the last 3 years. In-house research provides tangible and immediate benefits to game development and iteration, either alone or as a supplement to other playtest resources (e.g., publisher facilities or external consultants). This session will consist of a practical analysis of the benefits of adding an in-house researcher to your development staff, based on the last 3 years of experiences from Volition, Inc.'s player experience researcher.
