Overview: This talk is for anyone who has been involved in techniques to improve sales, accessibility, or the level of competitive excitement in their games. As developers and publishers, over time we have learned techniques to improve our results in this industry in these varied ways. However, certain common techniques, while quite effective at achieving their intended goals, also bring with them unintentionally destructive side effects upon the learnability and playability of our games.
