Can the game industry transcend its perception as a hit-driven business? Very few titles can reach the blockbuster status of Clash of Clans or Candy Crush. Even blockbusters like those struggle to remain profitable after their initial burst of popularity. The challenge is even greater for smaller hits that can't consistently earn enough through IAP.
