Overview: There is a new wave of interest among studios and publishers in procedural storytelling, replayable game narratives that dynamically change given player actions. This approach to game narrative requires new design and technology skills for storytellers, as well as an understanding of the more traditional approaches that procedural approaches build on and augment. Mateas will describe his experiences and lessons-learned developing and teaching a curriculum for procedural storytelling.
