Overview: Constraints are often seen as frustrating and limiting, but in this session Jenn Sandercock, creator of the successfully crowdfunded Edible Games Cookbook, explains how she uses constraints to help her design process and promote innovation. Jenn's baker's dozen of edible games were created by starting from a core constraint that all the games had to involve real-world eating within the gameplay itself. To vary each game's design, Jenn added more constraints, and although most people don't use eating real food as a constraint, this talk will help you consider how to create constraints for an individual game or for a series of games, and use them to innovate.
