Overview: Great effects need awesome textures but creating them is not easy and (almost) nobody speaks specifically about the topic. This talk will give an overview about the different texture types (diffuse, LUT, erosion, flow, ...) and the different ways of their creation (painting, photosbashing, procedural generation, simulation). It's an overview with the goal of taking away the potentially overwhelming panic especially at the beginning of the career when one must create textures and doesn't know where and how to start and what's a good and what's a bad way.
