In this talk, Nick Kaman, Art Director at Aggro Crab, discusses how he created the unique visual style of Going Under, a narrative-heavy roguelike released in 2020. Find out how we mimic the signature illustration style that is ubiquitous in the modern tech industry while still managing to make the game stand on its own as a fun roguelike with an engaging story. The style we developed was achieved not by some grand vision, but by a series of parameters and considerations developed to fit the needs of the rest of the project.
