The Inevitable Sunset


Every game will end someday. Therefore, every game needs a plan of how to best end. However, there are multiple best ends: technical, legal, community and even personal. The best time to plan for exactly how to end a game is when that game is still being built. This session will discuss best practices in shutdown planning from the perspective of a team that forgot to do any of that at the right time, and had to scramble at the worst possible moment. Details and specifics will be discussed.
